Our 12U AA baseball team begins World Series play this coming week, 7/19 - 7/24, in a pool play format, with the top 24 teams advancing into a winners bracket, while the bottom 18 teams compete for a separate title in the 'consolation bracket.'
The Metro Cardinals pool play schedule is listed below:
Monday, 7/19 @ 12:30 p.m. vs. Blue Springs Bandits
Monday, 7/19 @ 2:45 p.m. vs. St. Joe Yankees
Tuesday, 7/20 @ 8:00 a.m. vs. LEEDEY
Results will be posted here and on our website as the tournament progresses. Thank you to everyone involved in what's been an amazing summer of baseball.
Update: We played some amazing baseball, but unfortunately at this level of competition, you have to fire on all cylinders to advance. We allowed the 6th fewest runs out of 42 teams, but we were eliminated 1 game shy of the quarterfinals in the championship bracket, losing to the TriCounty Red Devils (Illinois) 3-0.
Sadly, we had ample opportunities to blow the game open early and often, but it just wasn't our day.
Thanks to everyone involved on and off the field in what's been an amazing baseball season. It's definitely a summer I'll never forget. :-)

From thewhitepanda.com: The White Panda is a mash-up/remix duo made up of Tom Evans (aka Procrast) and Dan Griffith (aka DJ Griffi) based out of Chicago and Los Angeles. Panda formed in early 2009 after the duo decided to collaborate on their independent efforts. The two have been composing and producing music together on and off for about 7 years. Most of The White Panda’s live sets are hosted by colleges although they can be caught at the occasional bar as well. The duo released their debut album, entitled “Versus”, on December 28, 2009 and just released their latest album “Rematch,” on July 2nd, 2010.
