Our 12U AA baseball team begins World Series play this coming week, 7/19 - 7/24, in a pool play format, with the top 24 teams advancing into a winners bracket, while the bottom 18 teams compete for a separate title in the 'consolation bracket.'The Metro Cardinals pool play schedule is listed below:
Monday, 7/19 @ 12:30 p.m. vs. Blue Springs Bandits
Monday, 7/19 @ 2:45 p.m. vs. St. Joe Yankees
Tuesday, 7/20 @ 8:00 a.m. vs. LEEDEY

Update: We played some amazing baseball, but unfortunately at this level of competition, you have to fire on all cylinders to advance. We allowed the 6th fewest runs out of 42 teams, but we were eliminated 1 game shy of the quarterfinals in the championship bracket, losing to the TriCounty Red Devils (Illinois) 3-0.
Sadly, we had ample opportunities to blow the game open early and often, but it just wasn't our day.
Thanks to everyone involved on and off the field in what's been an amazing baseball season. It's definitely a summer I'll never forget. :-)
